2009 Volunteer Convention Registration Reminder

We encourage you to register right now for the LCI Convention in Minneapolis. There are significant benefits to register early. Most importantly:

• Early registration saves you money. If you register between now and December 31, 2008, the fee is $100, a $50 discount. The registration fee between January 1 and May 1, 2009 increases to $130 and after May 2, the fee is $150. In any event, all Lion volunteers must be registered no later than May 1 in order to have our job assignments timely.
• Registration Update News (January 1, 2009) – LCI has informed us that the registration fee for MD5M Lions will be $100 through May 2009. Make sure you specify on the registration form that you are a member of this district.
• Registration Update News (February 16, 2009) – LCI informs us that the On-line registration form is not programmed to give MD5M Volunteering Lions the special discounted $100 rate. In order to get the special pricing, LCI recommends that we use the paper form and register by mail. We also suggest highlighting the “MD5M” and the rate of “$100” so the person inputting the information will notice the special rates.
• Only registered convention attendees with their convention credentials will be allowed in the parade and in the Minneapolis Convention Center.
• While you are here, attend the convention! Besides the seminars and speakers, we are pleased to announce The Beach Boys will be performing for us at the convention! You will not want to miss it!
  
  A limited number of international show tickets featuring the Beach Boys are available for US$20.00 for guests and family members of convention registrants. All tickets are general admission. The proceeds will go to LCIF. Tickets are only available on-line and confirmed at the time of purchase. All tickets are non-refundable.

• Priority in selecting your hotel. Speak to your club and district leadership about your delegation hotel preferences.
• Lastly, volunteers who are registered convention attendees will get an added bonus – a $25 rebate on their registration fee from the Host Committee. Those registered Lion / Lioness / Leo volunteers who complete their volunteer responsibilities will receive a $25 rebate shortly after the convention. This effectively reduces your convention registration fee to $75.
