Sergeant at Arms Job Description

Sergeant at Arms will work with the headquarters staff and officials to assist with the Plenary Session, the International Show and the Exhibit Hall for crowd control issues, seating, translation headsets, emergency procedures and other items for these large-scale sessions.

Each Sergeant at Arms volunteer needs to report to their assigned position at least 30 minutes prior to the start of their shift. The exhibit hall will be open from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM the first four days and 7:00 AM until 10:00 AM on the final day. Only authorized personal will be admitted prior to these opening times.

Each Sergeant at Arms volunteer will need to know:

• The location of the First Aid Room and the procedures to follow in the case of a medical emergency. (LCI will have emergency medical personal on site)
• The location of all entrances, exits, elevators restrooms and transportation.
• The location where attendees can pick-up their translation headsets. (Headsets are provided free of charge)
• Seating is on a first come bases except there will be designated seating for:
1. The International Family
2. Past International Presidents
3. Disabled Attendees
4. Media Members
5. Special Guest
6. Hearing Impaired Attendees
7. Second Vice President Candidates Delegation
8. Bands

All Sergeant at Arms volunteers and attendees must register for the convention and must wear the official convention badge.
